New Heights Auto Ministry Kicks off the Year with a Fresh Start for Two Families

Did you know that over 70% of single moms fall within the ALICE (Asset Limited, Income Constrained, Employed) threshold? That translates to 70% of single moms live paycheck to paycheck and cannot make ends meet. Often they are forced to make impossible choices: pay the rent or buy food, receive medical care or pay for child care, pay utilities or find transportation.

Well, the new year lightened the burden and brought a fresh start for two mothers in our community, each raising four small children, thanks to life-changing vehicle donations from supporters of New Heights Auto Ministry. These families, facing daily struggles without reliable transportation, received the gift of mobility, significantly improving their quality of life and setting the tone for a brighter future in 2024.

For both moms, the challenges of raising young children were compounded by the lack of reliable transportation. Simple tasks such as grocery shopping, getting children to school, attending medical appointments, or making it to work on time became daunting.

One of the moms, Jessica, expressed how transformative the donation has been for her and her children. She shared. “It’s been a blessing.”

The second mother, Christina, echoed these sentiments, saying the donation has already improved her family’s daily life.

The impact of these vehicle donations extends beyond just convenience. The newfound mobility has allowed both moms to explore better employment opportunities, ensure their children never miss important appointments, and participate more fully in their community. “This vehicle will help me get back on my feet, and it’s giving my children the opportunities they deserve,” one mom shared.

For New Heights Auto Ministry, these donations reflect their core mission of providing hope and support to families in need. "We’re proud to start the year by empowering these moms with the resources they need to care for their families," said Executive Director Chris Britton. "We know reliable transportation can change the trajectory of someone’s life, and we’re excited to see these families thrive in the year ahead."

Both mothers expressed deep gratitude to New Heights Auto Ministry and the donors who made these gifts possible. “This is more than just a car—it’s a chance for a better life for my kids and me,” said one of the moms. "I can’t thank them enough for the support."

With these two vehicle donations, New Heights Auto Ministry has once again demonstrated the powerful impact that a single act of generosity can have on a family. The ministry looks forward to continuing to support families in need throughout the year, providing not just transportation, but a path to stability and independence.
